Amazon has announced plans to eliminate around 14,000 corporate positions, marking one of the largest job reductions in the company’s history.

According to Beth Galetti, Senior Vice President of People Experience and Technology at Amazon, the decision reflects the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming business operations and productivity.

“AI is enabling companies to innovate faster than ever before,” Galetti said in a company blog post, noting that Amazon must now operate “more leanly, with fewer layers and more ownership.”
